CurrentWith an unofficial title of the "Culture and Cash Guy," I have a unique skillset in leading the financial, operational, and people/culture sides of our business. I have led RedPeg to significant growth over the seven years that I have been there, taking a $17 million company to $35 million, and nearly doubling the staff size as well. I played a critical role to ensure that RedPeg, mostly a live entertainment company, survived during the pandemic and came out stronger on the way out. We retained key personnel and clients and added digital marketing capabilities during the pandemic and subsequently launched other ventures as well, including music VIP experiences. I revamped our KPIs and redirected senior leadership’s focus to better reflect drivers of success, including utilization, gross profit return on personnel expenses, and creative ways to improve project profitability. Average gross margin on jobs has increased from 29% to 42% during my tenure. My priority is to create a culture where people are happy, can pursue their passions, and can find fulfillment in developing initiatives that go beyond their job description. This has opened the doors to five new Employee Resource Groups that quickly became a permanent part of our culture--including Women of RedPeg, RedPegsters of Color, and Equally (LGBTQ+). I stress the importance of fiscal transparency and fiscal responsibility...spending money as though it's your own...and we enjoyed significant success with a fun, companywide Cost Savings contest that I initiated, resulting in more than $2 million in savings in less than three years...not to mention that "cost savings" is now an official buzzword around the office...with good connotations. I have twice been voted by the staff as "Employee of the Year"...and the first executive to ever win it in the company's 27-year history. As a colleague stated, "I think you're the first CFO to ever to institute a cost savings program and also win Employee of the Year."
