LASO was a subsidiary of Quarterspot, that was acquired by Lendio in 2021Building a Cloud SAAS- We took the from-scratch lending solution built for the company and extracted two completed Lending as a Service solutions. The first is a small business lending solution for regional banks and credit unions, the second is an instant underwriting solution for credit card processors to underwrite and offer business loans to their merchants.- Payroll Protection Program. Deployed a solution to integrate, underwrite, and fund PPP loans as part of the COVID 19 economic stimulus bill. Our solution combined lead generation from online portals, utilizes LASO's machine learning and technology automation, to process $2B in applications for our bank partners. The team was able to stand up a solution in a week in an iterative delivery cadence.

Creating a Fintech- As the CTO, I joined Quarterspot as the 3rd person in the company. Starting with some initial prototypes, I built the technology for Quarterspot from the ground up. During the journey this included meeting rigorous standards like the SOC 1 type 2 certifications. From inception to date, the platform has underwritten $2B in offers, lent over $600M to small businesses and processed 1.2M daily payments. The capabilities were created in a modern cloud architecture to handle all aspects needed for a fintech lending business, including:• Loan application, including banking aggregation providers• Machine learning risk/underwriting technologies• Daily payment automation/reconciliation• Loan servicing• Peer-to-peer investing and ledger capabilities• Capital markets resale enginePracticing Software Engineering- Utilizing eXtreme Programing (XP) and Lean methodologies and cutting-edge practices like DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, I built out a talented engineering organization in Austin Texas that continues to add features and ship value to the business every week. We launched in true Lean Startup fashion with very basic capabilities and were able to quickly build out features along the way, while allowing the business to grow at the same time the platform was iteratively being developed.Leading in Machine Learning- The work in Machine Learning was recognized by the Microsoft Azure Machine Learning development teams and we shared our experiences in applying advanced machine learning models into their platform. By balancing the tradeoffs of Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Infrastructure as a Service, we were able to navigate the balance between agility, speed, cost, and cloud agnostic solutions.

• Lead on the Engineering Excellence team, focusing on Software Engineering practices, mentoring, education, and acceleration. Applying agile software methodologies and engineering practices into a large organization. • Development Lead / Architect - User Interface Framework - Dell.com. Led a team of senior engineers to develop the UI framework, controls, tools and utilities to enable and protect the Dell brand for Dell.com customer facing websites and applications.• Architect for the Multi-Channel Experience Teams for Dell.com. Charged with architectural oversight over a majority of the User Experience teams for Dell.com.• Platform Architect Team – Dell.com. Part of a small team tasked with stewarding the strategic and tactical architectural changes for the Dell.com Architecture and Implementation. Developed the architecture roadmap, led a team to create maturity models, hands on training, and software patterns for measuring, and migrating existing applications to meet the long term vision to attain the platform’s architectural tenants.

• Developed and evangelized the companies strategy around the use of Open Source Software. The major accomplishment for this role was the acceptance of a project into the Codeplex Foundation as the first non Microsoft project into the foundation.• Led the Research & Development activities for the company to ensure that common approaches were used across client projects. Additionally led the creation of generalized solutions for the companies development stack.• Led implementation for multiple client projects. These projects were line of business web applications which were developed in an iterative approach.• Lead a team of developers to prototype and deliver a sales tool and service layer for the Volume Software licensing channel at Dell. Responsibilities were coaching team members in both technical execution and process, utilizing of extreme programming (XP) and Scrum.

Led the implementation and acted as primary technical contributor for the flagship consumer e-commerce initiative. Shop.CallawayGolf.com was a breakthrough for the golf industry in that Callaway Golf was the first manufacture to open a direct to consumer commerce initiative. This was done without compromising relationships with our existing retail partners. Was awarded the ELY Award for the delivery of this project. The ELY Award is named after the founder, Ely Callaway, and is given in recognition for Extraordinary Contributions to the Callaway Golf Company.Delivered seven consumer facing e-commerce websites in the first two years of taking this position. This included extending the back-end fulfillment system to add alternate taxing and payment, and fulfillment methods.Responsible for the architecting consumer facing production environment. The solution met the goals of delivering appropriate redundancy and maximum availability, while keeping costs to a minimum.

This position reported to the Senior Executive V.P. of Information Technology & Chief e-Business Officer. Was one of four leaders of the IT department consisting of 120+ employees. I had direct responsibility over ten software developers. During this time, we had a major organization transformation initiative which aimed at changing the organizations culture. My day-to-day responsibilities included acting as the technical architect for all non ERP development projects. I also acted as liaison between operations, networking and business applications departments because of my broad technology experience.Additional responsibilities included participation on one of the Core Process Teams for the corporation’s six sigma initiative. Deployed the first use of .Net technology in the enterprise on the CallawayGolf.com website.

Delivered consumer facing websites, web applications, and client server applications based on the Microsoft technology stack. Utilizing Internet Information Server (IIS), Active Server Pages(ASP), Sql Server, Visual Basic, and Crystal Reports.

Initial role was a project manager and system engineer. I managed the installation of the company’s first client/server (Windows NT/SQL Server 7) reporting system which integrated the legacy metrology equipment. I installed systems in 40 automotive assembly plants in North America. In this role I also developed 3 customer solutions which built on top of the reporting platform for one-off solutions, which could not be delivered as part of the shrink wrapped product. The solutions integrated with video displays and plant floor Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).Second role was part of the product development team to deliver the next generation metrology product. I was part of the User Interface and Reporting team. Some of the innovation my team delivered included the development of a rich user interface in a web browser using xml, javascript, dhtml and active server pages. The team used Rational Unified Process (RUP) to design and develop the software.

Developed plant floor systems for General Motors. Systems included: tracking and routing system for Engine subsystem assemblies, data delivery system for General Assembly, and Quality Analysis system for body shop metrology equipment.I was recruited to work on a solution for the General Motors Midsize Car group. This built on a project developed at the Cadillac Assembly Plant. This solution was delivered to 9 assembly plants in North America.
