I am a retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel, former Naval Aviator and Blue Angel C-130 Demonstration Pilot. My education, experiences, and opportunities over the past 34 years have allowed me to become a successful senior leader, manager, aviator, mentor, educator, and role model. I am a motivated professional with significant roles in senior leadership, budget planning and oversight, strategic planning and execution, policy direction and development, project and personnel management, team building and mentoring, safety and standardization, complex technology integration, logistics management, and community relations. I am an excellent communicator and leader of teams. Upon graduating from college in 1993, I became on officer in the Marine Corps. I have served in the following capacities: Pilot, Aircraft Commander, Blue Angel C-130 "Fat Albert" Demonstration Pilot, Ground Safety Officer, Aviation Safety Officer, Director of Safety and Standardization, Operations Officer, Executive Officer, Destructive Weather Officer, Tower Safety Representative, Tower Duty Officer, Assistant Branch Head, Training and Operations Procedures Manager, Crew Resource Management Manager, and Commanding Officer of the KC-130J Pilot Training Detachment. I also earned my Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. I also earned a B-737 Type Rating and served as a First Officer with Alaska Airlines.I have had the privilege of training, motivating, and leading Marines and civilians in a diverse and dynamic environment which requires nothing less than mission accomplishment. Throughout my flying career, I have also been afforded the opportunity to consistently fly worldwide, both in the international environment (ICAO) as well as stateside, while accumulating over 3233 hours. As the Commanding Officer of the Pilot Training Detachment, as well as the lead evaluator and instructor for Marine KC-130J aircraft, I have been fortunate to teach, manage, and lead hundreds of Marines while while making a positive difference in Marine Corps Aviation. Most recently, I have become a successful Director of an aviation program that has become nationally recognized as one of the best 2-year collegiate flight programs in the nation.
