My professional career spans across business, law, politics, and media.I am an independent director for companies that operate with substantial government regulation (banking, telecommunications, and insurance): Union Savings Bank, Red Fiber Holdings, and OCC Health Benefit Program.As the President and CEO of the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce, I lead an economic development organization that serves and represents more than 600 Black-owned businesses in the region. I am passionate about creating a more equitable and inclusive business environment for our members and partners. I leverage my skills and experience in chambers of commerce, government relations, investing, and lobbying to advocate for policies and programs that support the growth and success of entrepreneurs and business owners.I am licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the Ohio Supreme Court. I am a partner in a law firm specializing in government relations. Also, I served as Ohio Senate Minority Leader and as a member of the National Finance Committee for Senator and President Barack Obama. Additionally, I founded a newspaper publishing and media company, KGL Media, that focuses on African American issues and perspectives. I am also the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, where I help shape the chamber's strategy and initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the state's business community.
