Compliance Analyst II for Liberty International Insurance - Specialty Markets West – LATAM Operations. I provide support to our Chief Risk & Compliance Officer in managing the regulatory relationship with regional key regulators and Liberty Mutual Group’s Global Compliance & Ethics department.Within my responsibilities, I am in charge of local regulatory change identification and communication to stakeholders as well as engagement with external regulators. Providing expert compliance & legal consultation, superior analysis, and project management support to the business and compliance partners for our local and regional operations. Researching and developing responses to external regulatory requests including complaints, inquiries and/or investigations from Departments of Insurance, Regulatory Agencies, customers and other interested parties. Communication of legislative changes and/or direction to impacted stakeholder groups including issuing bulletins and documenting key action items to support ongoing, effective risk mitigation. Handling our local plans for organizational resilience, business continuity and catastrophe response as well as testing for readiness. Facilitating Data Calls for timely and accurate responses for regulators and direct engagement with examiners. Partnering with stakeholders across the organization across Product Management, Portfolio Solutions, Actuarial, Risk, Legal, Finance & Accounting, and International Corporate Governance. Sharing observed trends in regulatory topics, risk and mitigation strategies with stakeholders and process owners. Liaising with both regional and local legal counsels as well as participating as company representative in local insurance companies’ associations, and collaboration and engagement with other professional guilds.

Led the establishment, staffing and training of a Transactions Auditing team providing compliance services for a large real estate brokerage firm. Duties included training staff on the regulatory requirement for real estate sales transactions in 27 states. Scheduling Zoom meet, greet and train sessions with local brokers of each state that we audited files from. Overseeing the audit process for assigned case load of sales files in general and per employee. Holding monthly one on one feedback and micro trainings with staff to clarify doubts, address difficulties or faulty files and escalate if/when necessary. Establishing a priority system of action over red flagged instances to be addressed based on urgency of finding from largest fines/risks that required immediate attention to simple missing formalities that could be corrected later. Distributing workload between auditing staff and monitoring audit progress daily, weekly and monthly per employee. I also prepared and submitted audit progress reports and statistics for upper management by type of transaction audited (commercial, residential, new builds, referrals, leases and vacant lots), audited states and audit sample percentages per cycle.

As CCO at LiveCare Health, I developed and implemented the entire HIPAA HITECH Privacy, Security and Administrative Compliance program for the organization. This was done in a way that will allow the program to continue to grow, evolve and adapt with time to best face risks brought on by future technology, legislation and events/risks, protecting patient's information. After achieving verification from an independent third-party organization, LiveCare was certified as HIPAA Compliant. During this process, I was in charge of the operation of the entire compliance department and its main operating areas; administrative compliance, privacy & confidentiality, and security. At the same time, I also provided oversight and advisory before, during and after contracting with vendors and service providers on all sides of the organization's operation in order to prevent risks and to provide ultimate legal protection.

I was in charge of the day-to-day operations. This included the preparation of opinions and suggestions on risk management, remedies and potential liability to assist executives and senior management with key decision making; designing, implementing and development of processes in conjunction with the legal team to maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory standards.
