Conducted multiple shelf life and ship tests, evaluating several material specs across three material vendors. Project resulted in $400,000 in annual cost savings and over 180,000 lbs of annual packaging material reduction.* Packaging Lead for corrugate optimization for powdered beverages and desserts at a co-manufacturer. Project involved optimizing box size / pallet pattern, and transitioning corrugate vendors across approx. 100 SKUs. Total annual cost savings was approx. $200K.* Packaging Lead to implement an alternate multi-wall bag for dried powder. Scope involved modifying bag style, qualifying sealing equipment and working with plant to ensure smooth install. Project reduced D&U by approx. $500K. * Assisted a confections-based business with gathering data across hundreds of SKUs for reporting on sustainability goals. Extracted appropriate data from all packaging specs and gathered into one shared location for reference. * Converted primary packaging specs for a frozen foods business from legacy spec system over to SAP-based spec system. Converted about 150 specs in the span of 6 weeks. * Packaging Lead to investigate optimizing the cooling cycle for a dairy-based product line. Developed hole patterns in corrugate shippers, procured samples and coordinated cooling testing. Results were positive, but project was cancelled due to capital constraints. Annual savings would have been well in excess of $1MM through significant reduction in inventory.* Led qualification of alternate film and carton vendors across multiple manufacturing lines and SKUs. Film transition resulted in $900K in annual savings; carton transition yielded approx. $530K in annual savings.
