At the pleasure of serving Grant Transit Authority’s Board of Directors and the communities in Grant County, I am entrusted to oversee the efficient business and operations of all GTA systems by providing top quality public transportation options for residents and visitors in a fiscally responsible manner.

As the Operations Manager for SMART, I am privileged to serve the Wilsonville community and meet their transportation needs. Being a small urban transit department, I have the opportunity to “wear many hats” and be creative in implementing new ideas into our operations. With funding that comes from an employer payroll tax, I am adamant that our income be used responsibly and efficiently and that our services be available to all areas of the community. I welcome the challenges of transportation planning and work closely with our partners in the region to connect Wilsonville to the greater metropolitan area.

As a Transit Supervisor, I worked as part of a team to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. I strived in motivating operators to achieve optimum performance through guidance, support, and use of effective supervisory and human relations skills. With exceptional communication abilities, I continuously built relationships with city departments, businesses, and customers. Along with processing customer service comments and complaints, I conducted written evaluations and counseled operators regarding performance. I participated in the hiring process of departmental personnel and trained new employees to become part of a professional team of operators.As the largest department of the City of Wilsonville, SMART maintains a fleet of over 30 vehicles and supports over 35 employees. Operating both fixed route and demand response systems, SMART offers a convenient and easy way to travel within Wilsonville and the outlying areas. By providing dependable transportation and helping to alleviate congestion on our roadways, SMART is rapidly becoming the right choice for a growing number of commuters and plays a vital role in providing transportation for those who do not drive.

As Road Supervisor for ASUM Transportation, I took on a role of managing the day-to-day operations of the transit system while managing public interactions. My core responsibilities included hiring and training new employees, creating driver schedules, and maintaining equipment and maintenance records. In addition, I attended board meetings regularly and took a key part in route and schedule development.The ASUM Office of Transportation creates the means for many University of Montana students and faculty to get to campus in a convenient and sustainable manner. With the exception of 3 full-time positions, the agency consists of over 35 student employees, acting as bus operators, bike ambassadors, outreach coordinators, bike check-out coordinators, and office assistants. Not only does ASUM Transportation assist customers who have no other means of getting to school, but it also encourages those with cars to choose a more sustainable method of transportation.

As an Equipment Operator, I worked beyond the traditional 40 hour week operating dump trucks, water trucks, and street sweepers for a chip seal crew during the summer months. I gladly assisted in any task throughout the chip sealing process. To the best of my ability, I ensured the operation was running smoothly and continuously during each job.Riverside Contracting, Inc. is one of the largest highway construction companies in the state of Montana. Riverside’s focus has been on State and Federally-funded construction contracts, both urban and rural, with an emphasis on excavation, aggregate crushing, asphalt paving, and chip & seal work. Riverside continues to operate as a family owned business where there focus is on safety and excellence.

As Lead Driver for ASUM Transportation, I supported the Road Supervisor with various tasks on a daily basis. In addition to being a Bus Operator, I maintained employee relations, assisted with hiring and training new employees, and performed minor maintenance and equipment inspections. I consistently remained on call while buses were in operation and responded to driver’s needs.
