I became fascinated with buildings at a young age, participating in building competitions in middle school and helping my dad out on his housing renovation projects growing up. Being exposed to the building field growing up had me envisioning working on some of the tallest skyscrapers in Dubai or on structural projects in Japan. Little did I know that my imaginative mind would take me to the heart of America to see a childhood dream realized. I graduated from the University of Kansas in Spring 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Architectural Engineering. Upon graduation, I began to work for a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) consulting firm based in Olathe, KS, where I primarily design building mechanical and plumbing system for retail stores, and schools, and restaurants. Additional roles include energy modeling for LEED projects and 179D tax deductions, as well as life cycle cost analyses. I even work on projects in Latin America and the Carribean, which has helped develop my project management skills.Having a diverse skillset has allowed me to immerse myself in several projects and partake new and different design roles, while continuing to develop my business skills and relationship skills with clients and colleagues. As I continue to develop as an EIT, I eventually am wanting to pursue further education in the field. My goals in the next few years are to obtain a LEED AP BD+C credential, as well as a Building Engineer Modeling Professional certification, PMP, and PE licenses. I seek to constantly learn and to grow in the building engineering field; the ability to be a valuable asset to my team, as well as the ability to provide quality services to the clients I serve, are what drive me to become a better engineer.
