Led a team of 10 Engineering Program Managers (EPMs) and EPM managers supporting Touch technology development for iPhone, spanning new feature development through program execution. Over the last 8+ years at Apple, I've made significant contributions to the development of sensing hardware utilized in every iPhone since the iPhone 6S, including ground breaking new technologies and multiple new architectures. While I'm incredibly proud of the products I've helped ship, my greatest contribution has been the team I've built over the last few years. I have hired, trained and mentored a truly fantastic group of engineers and program managers, all of which are making their mark at Apple by helping to build the next generation of insanely great products.

Akustica is a pioneering supplier of MEMS microphones for consumer electronics, and part of the Bosch Group, the world's largest MEMS provider. Led a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and acoustic engineers responsible for the development of Akustica’s MEMS microphones.Managed the full development cycle of multiple new products from kickoff through production ramp, achieving mass production volumes exceeding 3 million units per month. Created Technical Requirements Documents used as the basis for engineering development of new products, including low power, low noise ICs, and high performance MEMS components. Negotiated schedules, priorities, and resources to maximize development activities within a small organization addressing the rapidly growing MEMS microphone market.

Responsible for both product management and product marketing for Akustica’s portfolio of MEMS microphones. Drove new product definition, including the creation of numerous product requirement documents, through close collaboration with hardware and acoustic engineering teams. Led the successful launch of Akustica’s first MEMS microphone following the acquisition by Bosch, a product which generated more than 15X YoY sales growth. Researched and analyzed the market to ensure future products would be competitively positioned and in-line with industry trends. Developed marketing collateral including customer presentations, data sheets, application briefs, website copy and demo tools. Primary interface between internal engineering and project management leads and Akustica’s international sales team.

Responsible for program management, from initial OEM design-in through carrier marketing and commercial launch of the AT&T / LG GW820 eXpo smart phone – the first U.S. phone to include a fingerprint sensor.Tracked sensor related integration issues for numerous customer projects (device driver bugs, electrical and mechanical integration, durability testing, etc.), and managed engineering resources to ensure resolution within customer deadlines.Completely redefined the value proposition for AuthenTec’s Mobile Systems product line, resulting in significant market uptake and an increase in product line unit sales of over 50% YoY.Managed the strategy, positioning, and marketing of AuthenTec’s sensors to the top 10 mobile phone OEMs and their network operator customers.Defined the UI and UX for three different mobile software applications which allowed users to leverage the full functionality of AuthenTec’s sensor hardware in a mobile platform.

Created corporate and product marketing collateral including customer presentations, white papers, technology overviews, and new product announcements.Managed redesign of corporate website, created logical site map and wrote approximately 80% of site content. Responsible for tradeshow and industry conference participation, managing numerous conference exhibitions at international technology and consumer electronics tradeshows.Conducted extensive target market research, developed business segment SWOT analysis, and built quarterly sales forecast models used as a reference in AuthenTec’s AOP.

Optimized the physical layout of the power grid of a six-core VOIP Digital Signal Processor.Programmed, using Perl, the internal I/O connectivity for a DSP used in cellular tower base stations for routing incoming and outgoing data communications.Utilized Cadence Virtuoso tools to redesign, shrink and verify the layout of hundreds of IC blocks.
