Climate scientist with 13 years of program expertise in climate resilience, Disaster risk reduction, agroecology, renewable energy and livelihoods development distinguished by commended performance and proven results in the private sector and civil society organizations. I specialize in climate resilience development and adaptation, agroecology, protecting and upholding small-scale farmers’ rights to build stronger, more resilient and sustainable seed and food systems, through development and promotion of climate resilient agroecological practices, farmer managed seed systems, food sovereignty, indigenous knowledge on food and agriculture and natural resources governance. I am a ‘critical participant' of the agroecology and food sovereignty movements and a qualified professional in program development and implementation with extensive knowledge and experience in project planning and management, M&E, resource mobilization, forging innovative partnerships with government ministries, NGOs and private sector on critical issues. I have spear headed development of climate resilient programmes, provided strategic leadership, over sight and directed implementation of climate resilient projects including developing training content for capacity building interventions among smallholder farmers, refuges and host communities. I have managed and participated in international projects and programs where I have managed teams in the size of 12-20 persons and responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership and oversight for the different projects.I have done extensive work in the renewable energy sector particularly in biomass and solar PV as well as in the environment and agriculture sectors. I have designed Improved Cook Stove, biogas, solar PV and briquettes training materials. My creative leadership and communication skills, flexibility and strong understanding of climate issues have been of proven value in cross-cultural situations. I have demonstrated success in negotiations, building and coordinating networks, developing and implementing projects, writing project proposals and providing technical staff’s support and supervision.
