Managed the development and subsequent sales effort of a custom cloud based software solution, Mobile Incident Compliance System (MICS), designed to assist hospital's emergency management programs with their real-time emergency response training and compliance reporting.I managed and led a team of product owners, analysts, developers and testers to build this software solution from an idea provided by an emergency management nurse in a thesis paper. I also managed the sales team and product owners into learning the market, created a sales strategy and leading the sales effort.

Architected and rebuilt a small internally used FoxPro desktop application into a robust commercial ASP.NET three tier web application called myAAP. The application is used to develop Affirmative Action Plans for companies. It involves importing large amounts of data, cleaning and prepping that data, creating plans, performing complex statistics and reporting. The first iteration of the myAAP was a .NET Windows Forms application. The final iteration was a .NET Web Forms application. During my time at Biddle I operated as lead software developer, system architect, project manager, deployment manager, testing manager, last line technical support and programming mentor in object-oriented design and coding best practices. I led teams of contractors as well as internal developers and testers.

Designed and built a Windows Service written in C#. The Windows Service monitored a directory for any new or edited files. The files were captured and processed based on properties stored in a SQL Server database. Most files were processed by DTS packages which were triggered internally in the application using the DTS COM component wrapped in a .NET assembly. Assisted in the maintenance and enhancement of a complex ASP.NET portal application. This application included the extensive use of user controls, XML, style sheets, ADO.NET and some Web Services

Designed and maintained a command console application that pulled data from two different data sources, ran the data through filters and a merging process, prepared a text data file and forwarded the results to the central corporate database. Special challenges included gathering business requirements from a wide variety of sources in the worldwide corporation. The skills emphasized on this project included ADO.NET (particularly strongly typed datasets). Designed a .NET windows form application written in C# to support and administer the database tables and logs written for this application.Mentored other developers in C# and web development, trained and mentored business analysts in web site development, and participated in the design of a development framework for all of IT in Hewlett Packard.

Member of a team that was responsible for the design and development of a dynamic query engine. The engine ran against an Oracle database and had to create dynamic, complex queries based on the end-user’s input. This engine was the key component of Genomica’s product offering. I worked primarily on the server-side using Java to create the engine. I also assisted in writing and modifying the front-end of the original application written with JSP and Servlets. In our latest version of the application, I was on a team that completely rewrote the front-end of our application changing it from a web application to a Java Swing application.

Developed Propel’s tax engine which integrated with a third-party software product (Taxware). The engine handled the support, calculation and reporting for all tax operations.

Created a website to be used by all State of California webmasters containing instructions, graphics and templates to build their websites using the provided templates.
