• Supervising the operation, including plan implementation, product development, resource utilization.• Gives directions and participate in rectification of any trouble –shooting that may arise during operation.• Plan, organize and participate in general plant maintenance, like: boiler, dissolving vessels, pumps, gate valves maintenance/repair.• Ensure both the boiler and the dissolving vessels conditions are maintained• Prepare and assign duties to the staff on the production floor and Supervisors.• Ensure both housekeeping and safety are maintained• Ensure the production of good quality of sodium silicate liquid and efficiency in customer services are achieved.• Makes a follow-up on the operators reports and also assist in generating any new documents required.• Ensure the availability of raw materials for production .• Ensure and assist in the loading of the sodium silicate liquid to the customers and make a follow-up on the dispatches to ensure customers get their products on time as required.• Plan and then discuss with the plant GM and OD on operation modification and finally upon approval, act/put in place the modification for high efficiency operation• Report to the director of operation on the progress of production.• Carry out any other duties assigned by the management.

• Maintaining the flow of charger and glass level in the furnace.• To operate automatic system including process flow, troubleshooting and interpretation of system out put.• To operate furnace efficiently and safely to produce good quality of molten glass for glass production.• Setting the melting temperature (MT) in the furnace depending on tonnage draw, nature of the charger to avoid unmelted batch and drop of bottom temperature of the furnace.• Monitoring of performance of plant safety to ensure safe and efficient operation. • Maintain the preventive action and correct any trouble-shooting that may arise during operation to minimize factory down time.• Monitoring product quality to ensure that products meet the set quality in liaison with QA dept.• Maintaining of good housekeeping at the production floor and machines and safe working conditions.• Coordinating with the batch operators to ensure good batch composition of raw materials. • To conduct equipment inspection during the operation and recommend jobs to be done during daily, weekly maintenance.• To liaise with shift superintendent on any changes during the operation.• To write shift performance reports.
