I was born, bred and schooled in Kenya. For as long as I have lived, passion for social good has been innate. One of my first memories is getting this statement from an acquaintance “Let me tell you this, crime is here to stay, you can't fight it, just join in and benefit”. For a moment, that sentiment got me thinking with questions like "How can I contribute to crime suppression?", lingering in my mind. The result was to enrol for a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Criminology. By analyzing theories of crime throughout my course, I saw the possibility of realizing a crime-free society. Criminogenic risk factors are more of socio-economic factors whose suppression is dependent on proper controls.In effort to contribute to the realization of a crime-free society, I was among the team that founded "ETHICS AMBASSADORS NETWORK-KENYA", DeKUT chapter, that was officially launched at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on 29th September 2023. Since then, we have collectively taken part in series of ethical csr. On 31st March 2023, I successfully completed the Explosive and Weapon Systems Awareness Training which was held at the Humanitarian Peace Support Training Centre in Nairobi. The training also focused on Military Working Dogs Capabilities, small arms and their operations & types of IEDs and components. I was awarded a certificate of merit upon completion. On 18th June 2022, I was awarded a certificate by John W. Kiruri, M.S., CISA, CISM, SSCP for successfully attending a career symposium on Cyber/Information Security, Fraud Investigation and Security Management at DeKUT. On 2nd July 2023, the Kenya Schools & Colleges Taekwondo Association awarded me a yellow belt. In academics, Dedan Kimathi University awarded me a certificate of merit for academic excellence after clinching position 2 in Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Security Management during the 2022/2023 academic year. Throughout my life, I have been driven with this school of thought "when you ensure the safety of your surrounding, you become safe". Today, the crimes happening in the neighbourhoods are products of OPPORTUNITY, PRESSURE & RATIONALIZATION. Other major factors to crime are ABSENCE OF SECURITY, MOTIVATED OFFENDERS and ATTRACTIVE TARGET.We can end crime!
