About Eric Kaviar

I am experienced in managing intellectual property and other commercial disputes in federal and state courts as well as counseling businesses about ways to stay out of litigation, develop intellectual property, and enter into contracts. In helping clients reach their goals, I not only consider what legal strategies are most likely to succeed, I look for tactics that are efficient and unlikely to disrupt our clients’ businesses.I have worked with a wide array of companies, from start-ups to Fortune 500s, and understand that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions to legal problems. I have handled all aspects of litigation, from pre-filling investigation through trial, and litigated disputes in many jurisdictions, including federal court cases in the District of Massachusetts, the Eastern District of Texas, the District of Delaware, and the Northern and Central Districts of California as well as state court cases in the Massachusetts Superior Court (including the Business Litigation Session) and the Delaware Court of Chancery. I am also experienced in litigating patent cases at the International Trade Commission.My patent and trade secret experience covers a wide array of subject matter, including video gaming technology, voice over IP technology, content delivery networks, electrophoretic displays, suspended particle devices, optical equipment, financial services software, point-of-sale devices, matrix displays, helmets, eyewear, adjustable bed frames, and medical devices.
