Current- Run campaigns within the Policy and Government Affairs team, including crafting messaging, liaising with internal and external partners to drive impact, and managing distribution strategy.- Successfully lobbied Congress to pass S.1541 - Martha Wright-Reed Just and Reasonable Communications Act of 2022 which gives the FCC greater authority to regulate the rates of calls from prisons and jails.- Steering Committee member of the No Cost Calls Coalition, which successfully advocated for the passage of legislation which provides free phone calls to incarcerated individuals in Massachusetts.- Steering Committee member of the 13th Forward coalition, which successfully lobbied the New York State Senate to pass the “No Slavery in New York Act.”- Co-led advocacy days at the New York State Capitol in Albany as a state registered lobbyist.- Collaborated with partner organizations in the Coalition for Free and Fair Filing to successfully advocate for the IRS and U.S. Treasury to continue and expand the Direct File program in 2025.- Work alongside coalition partners to fight for change on the issues of prison phone justice, police foundations, police unions, prison profiteering, and prosecutor accountability.- Prompted over 200,000 actions from Color Of Change members; actions include signing petitions, social media shares, and outreach to legislators on the local and federal level.- Lead fundraiser of all Color Of Change campaigners during the 2021-2022 fiscal year, raising about $65,000 from members.
