Advanced Engineering ideated future connected device and software products, maintained vital core technologies, led technical evaluations of Nokia operating system initiatives, and managed Nokia's exploration of alternate operating systems. This global team of Silicon Valley and Nokia veterans included hardware, firmware, power management, platform, data analytics, and application engineers. Reporting to Nokia's CTO, the team objectively analyzed difficult questions affecting Nokia's technical roadmap for the CTO, Nokia's Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors.

Java Marketing drove strategy, product management, and marketing for Sun's Java client business; Desktop, Mobile, TV, Card, and Embedded. The team defined the vision, roadmap, strategy, and marketing for a group that delivered more than $280M in annual direct revenue and significantly more indirect revenue via Java contributions to Sun hardware, service, and software revenue. Sun was acquired by Oracle in February 2010.

I managed Product Marketing for this Kleiner Perkins/Sequoia funded startup. Dash Navigation delivered the world's first two-way connected personal navigation device and platform that connected people to timely and relevant information while they commute. Dash was acquired by RIM in May 2009.

I managed product development for Real's Music Division. This team owned the strategy, roadmap, and development for Rhapsody, the world's #1 subscription music service. I also built a stealth hardware team within Real that fully realized a next generation music player intimately bound to Rhapsody. That IP morphed in Rhapsody DNA, used by SanDisk, Nokia, Sonos, Tivo, and other leading CE companies.

I managed the PalmOS Product Management team at PalmSource, responsible for the roadmap, strategy, and strategic partnerships for the Palm operating system.

I managed the Core Software Product Management team, responsible for the roadmap, feature set, and strategy for the Calendar, Address Book, Notes, To Do, Media, and Installer software shipped with and on all palmOne devices.

I managed strategic development and mobile partnerships for this Softbank funded content delivery startup.

Storycatcher.com created next generation digital scrapbooks by capturing the stories behind digital photos. Photoworks, a leading online photo-sharing site, acquired StoryCatcher.com in May 2000. Adobe subsequently acquired the Storycatcher.com intellectual property.

I managed Zen's developer relations efforts while arranging funding for my first startup. Zen Research created a revolutionary CD-ROM technology, multi-beam reading, that shipped commercially in Kenwood CD-ROM drives.

I managed all of Bungie's business development efforts, third party title acquisition, and directed the West Coast studio for Bungie, responsible for the development of Oni. Bungie created the amazing Marathon, Myth, and Halo line of products, and was acquired by Microsoft.

I worked in Mac Hardware Engineering on the initial Powerbook line and the first PowerPC based Macintoshs. I later joined Star Trek, a stealth collaboration between Novell, Intel, and Apple to deliver MacOS 7 on Intel before Windows 3.1 shipped. Star Trek was folded into Apple's Modern OS, where I worked on next generation operating system technologies.I finished my time at Apple as Apple's Entertainment Evangelist, fostering the development of amazing consumer titles and games for Mac OS and PowerPC with business and technical programs.

I managed Microsoft's Higher Education sales to the University of Texas at Austin, reporting into the SouthCentral sales region.
