This project represented an $11.0MM corporate investment to develop a world class datacom cable manufacturing plant utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles in establishing a 100% cellularized manufacturing operation.- Responsible for determining individual manufacturing cell equipment requirements and selecting specific equipment to maximize throughput potential and work flow balance of each cell.- Key initial priority was to provide process and equipment training to Jackson operators and maintenance technicians. Provided continuous engineering support for the PVC compounding operation, tandem insulating, large pair cabling and jacketing operations.

Nearly all projects were self initiated, with several aimed at developing corporate-wide Lean Manufacturing initiatives.- Provided key input in establishing a $1.6MM annual capital budget for developing long term growth while also implementing year over year manufacturing cost reductions totaling more than $1.2MM.- Capital projects included rebuilding and installing two high speed tandem insulating lines used for manufacturing category 3 and 5e data communication products, implementing high speed pairing machines with backtwisting payoffs and improving the yield of the facility's PVC compounding equipment.
