“Perception is reality.” I have spent the last 25 years working with clients to improve their collaboration experience. I have sat through hundreds of user meetings to understand the challenges they face in getting their messages across. Walked the halls with those users to understand the workflow, designing better ways to meet their objectives. The one remote user who could not hear or see the message and perceived the meeting as a failure. I worked to improve their experience even though the technology was not always up to the task. As technology has evolved the experience has improved dramatically, not only our work but our lives. The challenge is has been to be able to use your device of choice, smartphone, PC, tablet and have a video call share information, not be tied to a room. We can now use any device, any application to not only communicate but collaborate. And we can do this from anywhere. We can share from home, from the ballfield, from anywhere improving not only our work but our lives.
