I first developed an interest in software development while in high school by creating computer games. After this, I joined the United States Marine Corps, where I was given exposure to other types of software applications that further fueled my interest in programming. During my military service, I earned awards including Marine of the Quarter, the Navy Achievement Medal, and multiple certificates of commendation. After my honorable discharge, I continued pursuing software development by studying computer science at Saint Cloud State University. After this, I went on to earn my MS in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where I conducted research on applying neuroevolutionary methods to reinforcement learning tasks. I am currently working on a project that further develops my graduate research.During my professional career, I have also been given opportunities to mentor subordinates and help them develop professional skills. In addition, I have had the chance to lead small teams on military operations, such as in the transportation and security of a $60,000,000 piece of military equipment.
