CurrentProvide tourism-related support services to sports, corporate, and government clients interested in hosting events/meetings in Fairfax County, Virginia, located just minutes west of Washington, DC. Serve as a one-stop, impartial source for research, marketing, and other assistance to help clients and their customers save time and money.Serve as the Fairfax County liaison between event/meeting planners and representatives of local hotels, facilities/venues, attractions, shopping centers, restaurants, vendors, county agencies, and other stakeholders.Partner with clients and tourism stakeholders to attract and grow state, regional, national, and international events/meetings that generate economic impact for the county through visitor spending and enhance the quality of life of community residents. Played leading role in developing and executing Fairfax County's winning bid to host the 2015 World Police & Fire Games (one of the largest participatory athletic competitions in the world, which attracted 25,000+ visitors from 70 countries over 10 days).Co-founded the Fairfax County Sports Committee (composed of the county's major public/private facility managers and other select sports stakeholders) and Sports Virginia (the coalition of tourism bureaus and sports commissions that develops sales opportunities in the sports market for the state).Leadership Roles: Fairfax County Sports Committee (Chair); Sports Virginia Research Committee (Chair); Sports Virginia Sports Grant Committee (Member); Fairfax County Sports Tourism Task Force (Member); George Mason Univ. Center for Sport Mgmt.
