Mature "knowledge worker" with a second long career in stage, studio, and remote production. I am keen to fulfill roles as an employee or freelancer that utilize these two broad areas of experience. I have succeeded as both lighting designer and bookkeeper at a non-profit theater in Colorado for instance. My current role at Meredith College utilizes both my administrative experience, as well as my experience with lights, video, and sound.I am no stranger to paper and folders and labels. The most elegant systems are often not digital at all - as software guru Jaron Lanier would be the first to attest.Nothing I do is genius or groundbreaking, just the wisdom of many years learning succeeding generations of information and production technology. My formal training is centered around understanding people and their relationship to their tools. I went back to university to study the social sciences particularly with that goal in mind.I've been building spreadsheets since the days of Visicalc (the very first spreadsheet invented.) My business name, Datakraft, comes from a conception of myself as a company shop machinist, the tool and die guy who fabricates the custom pieces that help a small business connect all of its store bought data equipment into a more satisfying and productive process. Although I am not a professional coder, I have produced a small online database driven app for which I invoiced a customer.I am a musician and videographer, and own cameras, lights, and sound equipment.I am very passionate about creating environments where people can have conversations that lead to decision. As I move forward in my career I am seeking more opportunities to help produce TED-talk style conferences and meetings particularly in the software coding and social science worlds.
