Led the governance, executive leadership and operational turnaround of The Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind, a small middle market non-profit manufacturer/distributor, employing 225 employees, 70% of whom were blind or visually impaired. Merged with a similarly aligned, Wichita, KS-based company, Envision, to form a diversified multi-regional provider of jobs and services for the blind and visually impaired.

Client relationship management for the Private Company Services practice, which includes Tax, Assurance and Advisory services. Covering all private companies and family offices in Central and North Texas, northern Louisiana, and Arkansas.

As the senior operating officer, I led The American Group (dba American Plastics, American O&P, American Skylights, and Waggoner Plastics) through a turn-around process for the owners, creating an exit strategy to maximize terminal value. Ultimately 2/3 of the business was sold and 1/3 remains under the leadership of a family member. With history dating back to the 1950s and combined personnel experience of over 200 years, this small, diversified conglomerate distributed thin-gauge sheet plastic and also provided fabrication of small-run engineered parts, primarily for food manufacturing, oil & gas exploration and production, telecommunications, aerospace, and retail display. Over the past 20 years, the company built a niche as one of the premier manufacturers of custom unit skylights and skylight roof systems. American Plastics was successfully sold to Curbell Plastics, leaving American Skylites as the remaining operating company under The American Group.
