I perform in-depth analyses on around 10,000 U.S. and Canadian publicly-traded corporations to supply the S&P Compustat equity research platform with detailed and uniform annual and quarterly financial data, including evaluations and interpretations. My team covers companies from various industries, including those in the Integrated Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas E&P, Oil & Gas Refining & Marketing and Finance and Asset Management industries. I am also a founding member of the S&P Global Toastmasters group, where I give prepared and impromptu speeches as well as taking on various roles that help the meetings run smoothly.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a competition held each year where teams of three to five students from universities around the world analyze companies to provide buy/sell recommendations on the companies' stocks. As part of a team of 5 students from the Daniels College of Business at DU, I helped my group to perform an in-depth analysis on Newmont Mining Corporation as well as the gold mining industry in general. Over the course of several months, we visited the company's offices, constructed valuation models, and analyzed a host of qualitative factors affecting the company's performance in order to create a 40 page report that supported our decision to buy or sell the stock. We then went up against other schools from the Colorado/Wyoming region and presented our evaluations to a panel of CFA charter holders. Our team won this local competition and later went on to compete against dozens of schools from North and South America during the Americas Regional Final in New York City.

Performed primary research, mainly on small companies in the pharmaceutical area. Also helped build and maintain financial models for some of these companies in Microsoft Excel.
