I was responsible for day-to-day tech issues that crop up among employees such as diagnosing and replacing broken peripherals, basic hardware/software diagnostics, computer upgrades and replacements, etc. I also did new hire computer builds, setups/tech orientations. However, my responsibilites stretched farther than the day-to-day, reactionary expectations of a service desk employee. In addition to these duties, I helped with longer-term maintenence, service, and upkeep. An example of this is my goal of standardizing and rewriting the Process & Procedure documents at Rockfish, so that we may have a repository of information that can be referred to by IT and non-IT employees alike, to more quickly and effectively diagnose and fix problems. In the course of my job, I collaborated with other IT employees both local and remote in order to keep the tech side of things running smoothly. In short, my job was to ensure that the vast array of tech at Rockfish served our employees, rather than vice versa.
