I'm suitable for fractional leadership roles in a number of different domains. I'm also proficient in a wide variety of skills relating to tech and entrepreneurship, including the rapid acquisition of new skills and the training of other people in those skills. You can hire me to do a lot of the work related to developing or maintaining web applications, websites, and mobile apps, new or existing, including content creation, technical planning, and project management, as well as putting together courses about those subjects. To be clear: I don't think I'm like.... great at everything, or whatever, and I'll probably suggest someone more suitable if they come to mind. I'm just specialized in generalization across a variety of industries with interesting synergies. Also I'm pretty fun.

I replaced a 3 person development team to manage the web and mobile customer apps. It was a terrible experience because the stack was end of life and I couldn't make significant changes, and also I had to deal with a variety of forseeable disasters like a decade of jQuery upgrades.I also spent months fighting to make a bit of progress convincing leadership to lean into generative AI tech, mostly to no avail, and eventually I was discriminated against because leadership is too incompetent and out of touch to understand emergent technology.

I'm experienced and qualified enough in this industry that I was hired to manage hotel operations for a busy downtown hotel during a pandemic--this despite the fact that I have a giant beard that's in clear violation of every uniform policy imaginable and hadn't worked in a hotel since 2009. I quit after 5 months because the hospitality & tourism industry is doing terrible things to its staff right now, like asking them to change financial numbers in the POS system or forcing working conditions that have too few staff onsite to ensure guest safety.

The LAE One Journey program was a 3 month bootcamp designed to rapidly train unemployed and underemployed people into a new field that has a significant labour shortage. I spent at least 30 hours every week in a classroom with 11 people who had never written code before. 9 of them graduated and they all learned a lot about coding and confidence.This iteration of the program took individuals with no previous coding experience and trained them through a high-intensity, versatile and industry approved curriculum with the intention of helping them find employment as jr developers. We had fantastic support from a number of local employers as well as Digital Nova Scotia.I was responsible for delivering the curriculum covering HTML/CSS, Javascript, PHP, Python, Android (Java), iOS (Swift) and Unity (C#)The program was never offered again because it proved that the community college business model is a racket.

As the leadership coach I helped UITs 3rd cohort develop management and coding skills. I ran an ongoing monthly tech event, supported marketing initiatives resulting in the highest recruitment for a single year in the history of the organization, and built & managed complex edtech infrastructure.I staged a coup when we didn't get paid and discovered that the executive director had never paid taxes, so we did that and accelerated the rest of the program to accomodate our remaining budget.
