• Developed and improved rule based annotators of biological entities, Genes, on scientific documents for IBM product, Watson Drug Discovery. • Programmed and created models to disambiguate biological terms for their canonical terms. • Trained deep learning models using tensor flow to extract interested entities from spontaneous reports, clinical trials, and medical literature. • Implemented the data access layer to the back-end services, which included Solr, a text search engine, and ChemAxon, a chemical search engine, to abstract the query services for the UI framework in Watson Drug Discovery.

* Promoted internet-scale computing with the Academic Initiatives by provisioning five Hadoop clusters to the several Universities.* Designed, implemented, and tested the data storage system for a mashup research prototype, which became a product called Infosphere MashupHub, a major component of IBM Mashup Center, released in June 2008.* Reduced the backup and recovery time for 10TB database from 2 weeks to three hours by designing and programming a new backup, thus enabling Performance Team to publish TPC-C benchmark on schedule. * Wrote function verification test programs for referential constraints and permission levels between typed and untyped tables for DB2 UDB 7.1.
