Module leader for undergraduate and postgraduate modules at the University of Limerick (Kemmy Business School), I split my time between work-related teaching, administrative tasks, research activities, and designing/producing e-learning activities. These skills provided me with responsibilities for academic leadership while delivering interactive Synchronous and Asynchronous online learning sessions, giving front-line support, assessment feedback to students across different delivery channels in all taught modules using appropriate hybrid blended teaching, learning, and evaluation methods.Being proficient with a diverse range of industry-recognised editing and production tools for blended online learning has allowed me to manage my time within competing demands and teaching responsibilities. These skill sets and experiences allowed me to develop and produce excellent blended learning material, written and oral communication skills, and work independently as part of a team to support tailor-made programmes meeting specific and unique organisational requirements.

“Frank’s City” is a virtual reality project centered around an exhibition installed at the Frank McCourt Museum in Limerick, Ireland. The exhibition was based on McCourt’s memoir, Angela’s Ashes, which describes his childhood and youth in Limerick in the 1930s. Few original locations of that period survive, and the exhibition provided an interactive form of the reconstructed rooms on view in the museum. In the context of immersive storytelling for public interaction, this study aimed to learn more about the impact of virtual reality on museum experiences.The project demonstrated the potential of VR for developing interactive museum experiences that benefit both the visitor and the museum by enhancing visitor engagement, increasing the attractiveness of museum visits, and contributing to museums’ entertainment and educational purposes. The positive visitor responses suggest that as VR technology improves, its use will prove successful as part of the museum experience.

My title was Designer & Developer, and my work placement position was held for six months, from March 2015 to August 2015. My primary role was to develop and improve my core design skills, carrying out user-centered design methods, which involved having a good understanding of usability. I also used a full range of software product designs, web designs, and visual media design skills. I collaborate with the head of design, user researchers, sales and marketing department, product managers, and the development team to design tools and experiences to help make ResourceKraft consumer products more seamless and beautiful.
