Led strategy, communications, marketing and operations of national programs to support survivors of suicide loss. Directed development and implementation of central programs. Ensured program and brand alignment of 80 chapters nationwide. Oversaw $1.5 million budget, including $500,000 for core programs and $1 million for chapter programs. Supervised two staff and multiple consultants. • Rebuilt and relaunched all existing programs, as outcome of strategic planning initiative.• Identified expansion opportunities for AFSP to lead efforts to help those who have experienced suicide loss. • Rebranded and expanded the Survivor Outreach Program, increasing its reach from regional to national, and growing its capacity to connect loss survivors with trained volunteers.• Overhauled support group directory, comprised of 750 groups primarily in the US and Canada.• Initiated and launched planning for 2016 conference for long-term survivors of suicide loss, including developing concept, logo, and marketing strategy, building a volunteer team, and hiring conference planner and expert advisor. • Commissioned and co-produced two 30-minute documentaries on the suicide loss experience.• Spearheaded translation of documentaries into 16 languages including Danish, Arabic, Hebrew, and Swahili.• Drove creation of new website for International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, Survivorday.org, rebranding it to be hopeful and forward-looking, and including new resources for 300+ Survivor Day event organizers.• Persuaded AFSP as a whole to use images of real people photographed from the front in digital and print materials, moving away from the shame-based images of people photographed from behind.
