Eric serves as President and CEO of New Day Diagnostics, the recently merged fully-integrated Diagnostics shop combining the biomarker discovery and diagnostic CRO-services of former EDP Biotech Corporation with product development and commercialization capabilities of the former New Day Diagnostics, LLC. New Day Diagnostics is a fully-integrated diagnostics products, CRO services, and clinical laboratory specializing in cancer, infectious disease, digestive disease, and women's health diagnostics. The company's product and service offerings span complex laboratory testing, point-of-care (POC), and over-the-counter (OTC) diagnostics. The company recently merged and has since acquired the assets of Epigenomics AG in order to fully realize the development and upcoming commercialization of ColoPlex®, a new diagnostic blood test for early detection of colorectal cancer and precancerous polyps. His passion is developing and launching novel biotechnologies onto the market in affordable and accessible modalities for all. To that end, he also sits on the Board of New Day Diagnostics, Life Science Tennessee, Tennessee BioSTEM Education Coalition, and founded the non-profit Andrew B. Mayer Foundation.He previously ran EDP Biotech as its CEO from 2015-2023, as well as directed business development activities at EDP Biotech Corporation since 2013. Prior to that Eric ran business development for BioPet Vet Lab and developed veterinary diagnostic products at AAD, Inc. His past experiences in biopharma include Metabolon, Inc. and Cirrus Pharmaceuticals. He has contributed numerous publications related to cancer diagnostics, chronic disease and infectious disease. He received his Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill, and his Master's of Microbial Biotechnology and Master's of Business Administration from North Carolina State University.
