I'm a managing director of a firm focused on exploiting behavioral biases with solutions from other fields (such as systems engineering, operations theory, or supply chain). We believe that we can help people make better decisions, whether that be in finance, public policy, or corporate strategy. We have had three major products:1. A long-short equity fund based on compensating for errors analysts make when valuing securities and processing news events. It trades quarterly, covers the S&P 500, and has a ~7-year track record outperforming the market and hedge fund indices.2. An estimation and analytics engine that takes customer-supplier relationship data from public filings and enables network analytics similar to what Google uses to search the web. The major challenge with the data is estimating values for all of the known customer-supplier connections that are not required to report a specific amount, and we received a patent for our invention in this space. The result is a set of data that can be used in finance to generate alpha through new ways to form groups or indices, measure momentum, or propagate signals over the network. It can also be used in public policy to determine which companies are critical to the economy, how to have a robust disaster response, or how to secure the supply chain for the military. Finally, we are working on uses in corporate strategy to analyze the dynamics of changing supply chains. 3. Shorter-term behavioral strategies designed to work on a daily or intraday basis across a variety of global equity markets. Our company will grow stably over time, adding diversifying products as we break new ground in behavioral finance with the right combination of directors, advisors, analysts, and insights. Thanks,Eric
