Back-end development and support of multiple platforms used across the Marketing Technology organization.- Architected and implemented a cloud-based platform that stores, translates and serves localized text for various Nike applications and web pages. Currently used by over 100 teams holding 60K+ text phrases translated into 30+ languages- Along with two other developers, wrote or collaborated on more than 17 EC2 micro-services comprising the two platforms, handling average traffic of 2 requests/sec with downtime under a few minutes/year, using parallel event-processing.- Added the capability of personalizing content for targeted consumers via an experimentation SaaS. Work so far has increased revenue 10’s of $M- Identified a cause of slow data downloads and refactored the responsible micro-services to affect a 5x improvement in speed- Planned and executed an initiative to migrate one platform to a new AWS account without any downtime. The platform is comprised of 5 interconnected micro-services communicating via HTTP and SNS messaging and includes over a dozen data repos.- Profiled various micro-service API’s using Gatling to find bottle-necks and then publish SLA’s to integrators- Created several observability dashboards for management metrics and alerts for monitoring platform health- Implemented ElasticSearch functionality to support user-requested, filtered fuzzy searches- Wrote numerous support scripts in Python to accomplish data management tasks to satisfy one-off user requests- Collaborated with squads across the organization on shared-library fixes- Emphasized maintainable and extendible code which resulted in a smooth handoff of the responsibility for one of the platforms to a European team (EHQ) and another to an Indian team (ITC)- Working within the Scrum/Agile and CI/CD development processes, consistently hit Sprint commitments, swarmed with other developers to help them hit theirs, sometimes onboarding and mentoring newer team members

Summary: Back-end development of data management utilities for the company’s flagship website. Wrote Java code for new capabilities (75%) and legacy bug-fixes (25%). Developed interfaces for four third-party API’s to gather data and then serve it on a dashboard. Implemented two interfaces that used web-hooks and tracking pixels. Wrote and deployed six micro-services, configured and deployed on AWS Lambda and EC2.

Leading the development of a new energy management appliance for a young company. Management of contractors and vendors doing electrical and firmware development, assembly and testing, and serving as key customer contact.

Provided support necessary for the pursuit of developing new testing tools for the chip industry. This included managing vendors for the necessary electrical, mechanical and software components and ensuring their smooth integration. I was also the primary contact with the customer, both for weekly updates as well as providing on-site delivery and support of the equipment.
