As Executive Director of Student Services, led three teams of approximately 40 staff to provide student services at Glendon College/York University. Accountable for delivery of all non-academic student services, including strategic planning, ensuring policies, regulations and protocols are followed, advising executives, and representing the College on diverse committees. Key achievements include: multi-year strategic plan with financial targets, communications and marketing supporting enrolment, digital strategy, interactive information hub, data analytics and benchmarking to drive innovation, and partnerships. Award winning virtual strategies recognized by the Educational Advertising Gold Award 2023, and profiled internationally as a best practice “Excellence in University Leadership, 2021”.

The CET is a membership-based organization of GTA school boards and post-secondary institutions, overseen by a diverse board of directors. The CET promotes access to education, within an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion lens. As Executive Director, provided overall executive leadership. Key roles: Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors, client and member services; strategic communications and marketing; corporate and business services including strategic, budgetary and program planning. Negotiated partnerships and funding agreements. Multi-year strategic, fiscal, risk management and program planning, innovative business plan. Expanded fiscal resources, increasing initiatives to support new programs for our membership; undertook key research/data sharing initiatives with diverse partners. Created digital/IT strategy including interactive information hub connecting clients to programs and services. As Executive Director, represented the organization at national and international events, speaking about critical issues and challenges.

Directed a wide-range of policy, legislative, regulatory, and program initiatives, providing strategic policy and program advice to senior executives, including the Minister and government. Oversight/negotiation of the multi-million dollar annual Canada-Ontario Federal-Provincial Funding Agreement, to support diverse programs and initiatives across 23 ministries. Ensured accountability in reporting and planning for programs and initiatives, overseeing reporting for over 90 initiatives across government. Recognized by the United Nations Award for Public Service Excellence for an innovative business planning model, and the Ontario Public Service Amethyst Award for a unique staff development and planning model.

Ministry of Education Lead a wide range of strategic policy, program, research, regulatory initiatives in the elementary and secondary education sector. Analyzed fiscal and annual budgetary planning, risk management and reporting on programs and initiatives, provided strategic advice and recommended options to senior officials to support investments in the sector. Led a $500K policy research initiative on early school leavers in partnership with the Hospital for Sick Children to support a provincial strategy and investments on student retention, which remains in place.

Ministry of Colleges and UniversitiesSenior fiscal advisor on complex and diverse portfolio budgets. Oversight of the Universities Funding Allocation Framework (Basic Operating Grant program, $2B), and allocation process, making recommendations on fiscal priorities. Led the design and implementation of a $90M fiscal allocation framework to create new public school boards in Ontario. Modernized financial reports, with new processes to enhance reporting for large budgets. Risk review and ranking to support the allocation process and budget decision-making. Multi-year budget projections, including risks and program sustainability, to support government decision-making on financial priorities and investments. Led financial research and analysis to support key government fiscal decisions, including the establishment of Ontario's newest university (Ontario Tech University).
