Eric is co-founder and chief maker at Picnic Design, a Toronto-based boutique architecture and design studio that helps clients bring their vision to life in the residential, workplace, retail and hospitality markets, with an integrated, cross-disciplinary approach to design. He is also founder and CEO at North of Modern (northofmodern.com), the makers of Boxr - a seamless and certified secure delivery experience that lets homeowners and small business owners receive deliveries with peace of mind when nobody is home or at the shop.Since 1998 Eric has worked professionally on various scales of the built environment, from urban planning and architecture to interior design and custom furniture. He is experienced and skilled in both high-level strategic planning and designing, as well as in details, construction and fabrication. He is as comfortable working in a team of professionals in an office environment as he is in a shop or on a construction site.His overseas experience has taken him to Ghana in 2006 where he was project architect for a new school, to Dominican Republic in 2008 as design architect for a new community including housing, a school and community centre, and more recently to Jordan in 2009 as an urban designer for a series of regional growth plans. As designer and project manager he has experience in needs assessment, schematic and detailed design and construction documents, as well as coordination with consultants and contract administration. Eric has 15 years of experience with award winning firms, working on custom interiors and buildings, such as The Ismaili Centre Toronto with Arriz + Co., and the Drake Hotel renovation with 3rd UNCLE design and Paul Syme Architect.
