I have been in Emergency Medicine for over 20 years and I am discouraged by what I see on a daily basis. People are suffering because of health problems that are largely preventable.In 2015 I began training in Regenerative Medicine (prolotherapy, PRP, and stem cells), Anti-Aging, Obesity Medicine, and Hormone Optimization. My education in these areas is ongoing. My plan is to bring all of these practices together in a comprehensive wellness center, working with other like-minded fitness, wellness, and healthcare professionals.I recently purchased land in Cedar Lake, Indiana, and over the next few years I plan to develop it into a multidisciplinary center for health and wellness. In this building, I plan to have 12,000 square feet of space on three floors. The main level will consist of medical treatment rooms, office space, locker rooms, and a spa with jacuzzi, stationary swimming pool, sauna, and ice plunge. The main floor will also have a break room and kitchen for staff.The basement will be a full 4000 square foot gym with weights, other fitness equipment, and a large mat space for stretching, yoga, and martial arts classes. This gym will be closed to the public and only available to clients of the business. The top floor will consist of four 1 bedroom apartments and a lecture hall.This business will involve another physician as well as other healthcare and wellness professionals including massage therapists, personal trainers, a nutritionist, a health coach, and possibly a physical therapist. I also hope to have yoga, martial arts, meditation, and other fitness and wellness activities on site. The location will host visiting lecturers and seminars in various health and wellness topics. These educational events will be geared towards staff but open to the public.The apartments on the top floor will be used for intense 6-8 week, on-site, obesity/weight loss camps. People will stay at the facility and we will take control of every aspect of their life while they are with us, teaching them how to pursue a healthier life. They will be fasted during the day. We will get them up in the morning. They will work out with our trainers. We will teach them how to shop and cook as well as how to eat on the go and maintain discipline in social settings such as restaurants. They will exercise twice a day, attend classes, and engage in other healthy activities while they are with us. I am currently looking to build a team of like-minded professionals who would like to be involved No commitment is required at this time.
