Provide technical leadership and implementation to the NSA DevOps Pipeline team with the purpose of implementing world class DevOps practices at NSA through the use of the commercial product GitLab. Work with GitLab Inc. Public Sector representatives to deploy and regularly upgrade the GitLab software in the NSA Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. This instance is architected to be High Availability from the start and leverage managed cloud services such as Relational Database Service (RDS), ElasticCache, and auto-scaling which enables the instance to serve NSA’s large software development community.

Provided technical leadership to a team of developers supporting the Intelligence Community (IC). Worked with the program lead to prioritize deliverables as part of an agile development process (product owner role). Collaborated with multiple offices to provide progress reports to key stakeholders.

Created Salt (SaltStack) states for automated deployment and maintenance of a global network performance monitoring system. States include a Node.js web application, Spark clusters, MongoDB, Niagarafiles, InfluxDB/Grafana, and a Java based Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) polling application. This automation was used to update and patch servers with a single command in seconds, rather than days/weeks.

Created a prototype of what would become the Ozone Webtop as a browser based “web desktop”. This application provided mash-up views in both grid and desktop styles. It is built with AngularJS and Twitter Bootstrap and the prototype became the basis for what is now the open source Ozone Webtop (source code at github.com/ozoneplatform/ozp-webtop).Served in a product owner role for a team working on making software development easier within government constraints. Worked with the team to prioritize tasks and remove technical and policy barriers. Briefed customers and management on current and future capabilities.
