Hello, my name is Eric, a graduate of Lewis and Clark College in Portland. I have been admitted to graduate schools on my path to a PhD and I am currently looking for an internship or job! I am looking for any new workplace experience I can get in the field of Computer Science, especially in software development, and will take any chance I can get! I've had around a year of experience working with research groups and small startups, and I'm looking to grow that experience in this lucrative field.The response I receive when I tell people about my double major is that they see no relationship between the fields of computer science and psychology. However, combining computer science and psychology led to the perfect combination of understanding both human thought and machine processing. As a programmer and game designer, these fields allow me to understand not only how to most efficiently tell the computer what I want it to do, but also to understand ways it could be interpreted by humans playing the game. Throughout my studies in cognition, problem solving, and memory, I found that my understanding of games and the situations they present to players evolved. I began to see how important it is for a programmer to understand human thinking in order to suitably design their final project to be intuitive and engaging to other humans.Through my work inside and outside of school, I've cultivated a diverse set of skills. This takes the form of technical knowledge, such as in Machine Learning and Data Structures, while also having an understanding of the intricacies of human interactions and development.
