We are always forefront of Internet technology, which make the work interesting. My responsibilities include:Handling AMS-IX platform - Operational tasks of the exchange platform, a high capacity MPLS/VPLS layer-2 switching platform, with an international team of skilled-technicians. - Day-to-day management of AMS-IX remote exchange platforms around the world. - Designing and implementing solutions for platform extension, upgrade and new servicesAMS-IX BGP route-servers - Handling/Debugging peering on AMS-IX BGP route-servers - Research & test route-server implementations (Bird/Cisco/OpenBGPD)Tools development - Develop platform debug tools for internal use (PERL, SNMP, CLI scraping, Debian packaging). - Developing scripts (in PERL/BASH/Expect) to automate routine tasks.Customer Support - On-call rotation schedule, providing 24/7 support to our customers world-wide; later on being 2nd tier support.Internal Training - Giving internal training for team members, newbies, 1st tier support. - Interviewing candidates, involving in selection process to find the right team member.

In October 2008, I started working for Reasonnet IP network, a mid-size Internet Service Provider in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I joined a network team of two, responsible for the production backbone network (Foundry/Brocade-based) and customer support.
