TrueVektor Development is the freelancing company I started after graduating from high school. I worked with clients to build and host marketing websites, and to design and develop web apps for use by their clients. I managed all business operations: account management, billing, bookkeeping, support, and development. I also hired and managed multiple temporary contract works for several projects.

As a Software Engineering Manager at Block, I formed a new loan servicing team starting with 3 engineers; creating and refining the culture, norms, and processes from the ground up. During my time at Block I recruited 9 engineers for my team, ranging from new grads to staff engineers. As a result, I performed around 150 interviews (some of these were also interviews for EM roles elsewhere in the company).I coached 3 engineers through promotion to staff engineer, and 1 engineer from new grad to engineer. I navigated multiple re-orgs while maintaining overall team health and satisfaction, resulting in no re-org related attrition. I also established a product-wide incident runbook which created consistency in severity evaluation and ensuring the correct leads from all orgs were involved at the right time.I led the Loans Servicing Experience team to vastly expand our servicing capabilities for our primary loan product, growing customer satisfaction and reducing loss rate. Through the expansion of capabilities, I still ensured ongoing engineering health through investment in testing capabilities, migration of bespoke code to platform capabilities, and keeping software libraries up to company standards. All of this effort enabled us to provide high quality loan servicing capabilities for new markets in Australia, Canada, and the UK.

I joined Wellway Health as a consultant for a brief time in order to help them jumpstart their healthcare product. My primary goals were to assist in launching their marketing website and help them to architect their web and mobile apps.

I started at Atlassian in my first role primarily as a people manager. While I had managed folks in my previous role, over 90% of my time was focused on individual contributions. In this role my focus started solely with the Bitbucket Cloud ecosystem platform: all of the backend and frontend code that enabled 1st party and 3rd party apps for Bitbucket. Over the course of the first year, I grew the team from 1 developer to 6. This necessarily required building the team's culture and processes along the way, including establishing a process for resolving post incident action items, which decreased repeat incidents and increased reliability.Over the course of around 2 years, I led the Bitbucket Cloud ecosystem platform team to more than double the number of marketplace apps. The team achieved this through the addition of advanced features, increased high touch interactions, improved communication channels, and strategic documentation enhancements. We also helped Bitbucket achieve GDPR compliance through retrofitting the ecosystem platform.Along with leading the team I also guided the overall work for Bitbucket Cloud to receive SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications. Additionally, I helped institute improvements to Bitbucket's security vulnerability resolution process, which reduce the time from identification to mitigation. I also led the effort to improve the data quality for product security through strengthening Bitbucket's trace logging across multiple authentication mechanisms.Less than a year into my tenure at Atlassian, I also took on managing the entire Sourcetree team, which consisted of 2 Windows engineers, 2 macOS engineers, and around 5 QA contractors from Ukraine. Over the course of a couple of years, we launched several well received versions of Sourcetree for both Windows and macOS.

Vodori is digital marketing company with a focus on the regulated space of life science companies. They offer an enterprise CMS called Pepper™️ as well as consulting services focused on integrating Pepper in to companies marketing channels. I joined Vodori on the product team, working with 4 other engineers to enhance and improve Pepper™️.While a majority of my role was focused on delivering software, I also managed a couple of members of the Pepper™️ team. The Pepper™️ team was a high velocity, cross-functional team with backend, full-stack, and QA members. We practiced Scrum Agile for the entirety of the time I was there. In the last 2 years of my time at Vodori, I was the team's Scrum Master. During this time, I also worked with the other members of the team to design and implement a monitoring, alerting, and on-call strategy for the product.In addition to my IC and people management activities, I also created and participated in a training initiative for junior developers and new hires. This initiative helped to both level up folks newer to professional development, and also to decrease the onboarding time for the company.
