Saved $1,000 per month by updating outdated bandwidth lines and implementing new state-of-the-art firewall resulting in improved efficiencies  Maximized communications performance by completely redesigning network with fiber backbone. Reduced cost of telecommunications by $1,100 per month by replacing and upgrading the PRI and programming all fax lines through the phone system.

Responsible for web development, design and branding. Controlled all network and IT management including budgeting, staffing, change management, software design, network planning and technical support. Revived and strengthened marketing strategy through use of PURL technology, direct mail and database conversions. Re-wrote website in PHP and MySQL, database driven code versus static pages eliminating costly outside maintenance and allowing for changes to be made within minutes versus hours. Developed web application to prepare quotes resulting in improved employee efficiency Designed and implemented back up and disaster recovery system which eliminated numerous costly fixes to corrupt files in the accounting system. Implemented new phone system, resulting in improved quality and reduced costs. Improved productivity through remote access enabling and networking separate locations which resulted in effortless file transfers and trouble-free phone connections.

 Reduced cost and significantly improved backup efficiency throughout company with the development of a solution for RSYNC on NetWare when there was no known working installs or support from Novell.  Planned, designed and implemented new network and phone system for more than 200 users at a remote location. Received high praise for outstanding design. Designed, installed and maintained website and FTP for UCONN Co-Generation Power Plant Project. Designed, installed and maintained networks for Bradley International Airport Energy Center and Connecticut Juvenile Training School.  Designed the website for a Solar Power project for Connecticut Transit. Also designed internal websites incorporating innovative, secure functionality with reporting and monitoring of crucial power plant systems, allowing remote monitoring. Redesigned the WAN infrastructure; built all Primary and Secondary VPNs dramatically increasing security, including intrusion detection, web blocking capability, reporting functionality, and user monitoring. Researched, procured, and implemented new technology to make network “un-hackable”. Eliminated outsourcing needs for trouble calls by rewiring network and telephone cabling and replacing and maintaining routers in house. Developed and implemented corporate intranet site with a help desk ticketing system. Supervised a remote IT staff of four. Troubleshooter for servers, switches, desktops, laptops, printers and associated devices based on customer request for more than five separate offices with over 250 Windows 2000/XP based desktop and laptop systems and over 26 Dell servers with Windows 2000/2003 and Novell NetWare 6.5 operating systems. Actively participated with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and compliance. Created new IT documentation for disaster recovery purposes.
