CurrentOversee development and production of all publications for the Academy, a 19,000-member professional organization that represents the interests of U.S.-based actuaries. Publications include:• Contingencies, an award-winning bimonthly magazine with a circulation of 33,000 that include members of Congress and state and federal regulators;• Actuarial Update, which covers public policy and professionalism news and issues that affect actuaries and is a key source for news about the Academy itself and Academy membership.• The Record, the Academy’s annual report to the membership and the public, recapping the work of Academy volunteers over the past year in serving the public and the profession.• This Week, a digital newsletter that compiles a week’s worth of news, updates, events, and media coverage.• Monthly and quarterly newsletters that collect information specific to various practice areas, including casualty, health, life, and pension.Manage a team that includes on-staff writers and designers as well as offsite vendors.Edit all Academy documents, internal and public-facing, for content, style, and consistency.Verify accuracy of complex, math-intensive issue briefs and white papers before transmission to federal and state-level stakeholders.Supervise the revision and production of Academy public policy and professionalism papers to assure high-quality, effective publications.Oversee production of all collateral (agenda, signage, handouts, surveys) for Academy meetings.Represent the Academy at industry conferences.
