As a Design Engineer at Vermeer Corporation working in enhancement on the Specialty Excavation product line, I have already learned so much in the just the short time I've been employed at Vermeer. From manufacturing principals to designing welded connections, and I am excited to continue learning and gorwing my career.I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biological & Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University. I tailored my degree with mechanical emphasis by taking classes in hydraulic power, renewable energy, and agricultural machine design.My experience includes an internship in water resources engineering with CP&Y (now called STV) where I gained experience interpreting engineering plans and projects. Additionally, I was an intern with the tractor engineering team at Kubota Tractor Corporation where I was given my own project to work on automating tire testing. Through the summer I gained experience in project management, agricultural equipment operation, and taught myself how to code microcontrollers and solder. At the end of the internship I had developed a working prototype sensor that reduced the number of engineers to conduct a tractor roll test from 3 to 1.In addition to that, I was the Vice President of Aggie Pullers, Texas A&M's 1/4 scale tractor design team. Each year we designed and fabricated a 1/4 scale tractor to compete in the ASABE International 1/4 Scale Tractor Student Design Competition. Through my experience in Aggie Pullers I have served as a design team lead and gained real-world experience in engineering collaboration, SolidWorks design and metal fabrication.
