Responsible for leading the Interactive team and participating in the strategy/design/development of web/video/new media projects for RISD. Skilled in evaluating vendors, evaluating web systems such as CMS’s, overall information architecture and content strategies, creating functional specifications, and wireframes, authoring marketing requirements documentation, budgeting, stress testing web concepts, overall project management and art direction. Launched the redesign of the risd web site 2010, integrating it into a new Content Management System. In 2008, led the team to re-design the RISD Museum of Art web site independent of risd.edu and redesigned their on-line store risdworks.com. Produced/directed over 40 videos on behalf of RISD and integrated video channels in RISD’s sites, championing and deploying the Brightcove video management platform. Managed the creation of an online digital bulletin board system utilizing the RISD intranet, 7 Imac computers and Samsung screens which feature uploaded works by RISD students and accurate calendar events. Led by Eric, RISD’s Interactive team has won multiple Webby Honoree/ Webby awards for videos, Admissions micro-sites, Museum micro-sites and HTML formatted emails created within the group on behalf of RISD.

Working within the design framework established by design-firm RGA, I evolved the user-experience of the RISD homepage and interior pages to accommodate new content ideas and rich media. Designed and programmed many Flash-based interactive promotional features for RISD’s main web site and for the RISD Museum web site. Re-conceived RISD’s online retail store risd|works.com, evaluated and purchased e-commerce package and designed the site. Helped create RISD’s first Intranet in 2002 and conceived of HTML-formatted emails as a primary method for reaching RISD alumni. Developed a system for videotaping RISD faculty, students and alumni and directed, edited these promotional videos for use on the RISD web site.

Created screens, illustrations and site architecture necessary to launch RI Horizons (a pre-web Internet project based on Prodigy on-line services) and then www.projo.com — the first web site of the Providence Journal Bulletin, one of New England’s largest newspapers. Using the proprietary tools of the Prodigy online service for RI Horizons, I organized information on the screen to assist user navigation and increase functionality of user interaction. Created user-interface visual icons, symbols for the projects and integrated illustrations into the screen layouts to emphasize local imagery and reflect geographical heritages. Later I created the logo for projo.com, designed the pages and implemented design standards for the online publication. Worked on high profile journalistically driven projects bridging the online department with various reporters and photographers of the newspaper. Won cool site of the day for online story "A Time to Die" which told the story of Noel Early and his request to end his life legally.
