This cohort study aims to increase the knowledge on cardiovascular disease, mental health, and infectious diseases across the six largest ethnic groups in Amsterdam.Besides my own research project, I carried out several research activities in favor of other infectious disease related projects at the GGD regarding logistics, inclusion, reviewing and protocols. Furthermore, I wrote a review report on behalf of an international scientific journal (BMC Infectious Disease) and headed several seminars - attended by senior researchers and PhD students - concerning critical discussion of international scientific articles dealing with HPV and HIV epidemiology. Finally, on behalf of our research team I presented the findings of my thesis, i.e. our research on HPV, at the epidemiology conference WEON which took place on 4-6 June 2014 in Leiden, the Netherlands. By using data from the HIV Monitoring Foundation and through analysis of - both paper and digital - patient records possessed by the OLVG, I conducted my bachelor research project and subsequently wrote my bachelor thesis, titled: "A decade ahead, a step ahead? - A retrospective cohort study of discrepancies in HIV diagnosis between 2002 and 2012 in a top clinical hospital in Amsterdam."

My activities covered, firstly, the organization and execution of student counseling for the bachelor program Health & Life Sciences at the university.
