Led $8.1M design and permitting effort with client, Colliers International, for the $318M San Juan Waterfront project. Project consisted of redevelopment of 110 acres of industrial port land into 1,500 residential units, 940 hotel rooms, 300,000 sf of commercial space, 96-slip marina, three public parks, and walkway along 2 miles of the San Antonio Canal. Completed conceptual design of road, pier and utility improvements including dredging of 225,000 cy of materials, environmental site investigation and co-managed preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for submittal to Commonwealth and federal agencies. Coordinated with numerous local and Commonwealth agencies for permitting including USACE, USEPA, Environmental Quality Board, Puerto Rico Planning Board and Department of Natural and Environmental Resources. Coordinated the efforts of multiple national and international offices, and subconsultants.Led the design of the first phase of the San Juan Waterfront project, Pier 6 Improvements. Project included local and federal permitting of innovative dredged material disposal and pier, water, wastewater, electrical, stormwater and roadway design as part of 1,000-ft long pier reconstruction.
