I have an excess of Gray-headed Coneflower flower heads and Indian Grass seeds.It is easy to build a lesson plan around these seeds, if you have a place to spread them near your school and it gives a good easy lesson and outdoor activity at the end of the year or in the fall. It is perfect for after the APES test at the end of the year.

Develop HPLC methods for finished pharmaceutical products.Some accomplishments include:Created validation protocol of Evaporative Light Scattering Detector (ELSD). Extended capabilities of stability group to include purity assessment by photodiode array analysis for accelerated degradation of pharmaceutical products.

Projects included:Analysis of beam deposited materials by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS).Analyze peptides by MALDI-TOF, and identify proteins using online database search algorithms.Maintain experimental systems including optics bench and Class IV solid state and excimer lasers.Program in visual basic for computer interfacing of experimental apparatus.Some accomplishments include:Performed collaborative study with Ames National Laboratory studying short-range order in quasicrystalline materialShared time between the Chemistry Division Cluster Studies Group and Biosciences Division Protein Mapping Group to take advantage of un-used MALDI TOF mass spectrometer in Biosciences Division.Built apparatus to generate and study discrete nanometer size alloy clusters, published two refereed articles of experimental and theoretical results.Wrote standard operating procedures for new Class IV Laser Control Area.
