I was made redundant from Sundyne in October 2015. So I think it’s about time I updated my LinkedIn profile…As I was less than a year away from retirement anyway, I decided to bring my plans forward and use this time to travel, indulge my hobbies, spend time with my wife and recharge, before deciding whether to pursue a yet-to-be-determined second act.This year I’ve been sailing, diving, driven to Spain twice, taken a welding course, restored and old car, learning a new language, whew! The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off. Now I am busy learning what to do with all the time I have rushed through life trying to save. I have already discovered that there is never enough time to do all the nothing you want. The real challenge is learning how to spend time without spending money, because you can be young without money but you can’t be retired without it. I am just so glad I put off being young until now.Maybe it’s time to ‘un-retire’.
