Eric has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Central College. During college, Eric completed 3 internships at both Clow Valve Company in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and The HON Company in Muscatine, Iowa.He began his HNI career as a Product Development Engineer with The HON Company in June of 2009. In his first role, he worked on the core product team with the systems product group.In 2011, Eric joined the Leveraged Products Design team. During his two years on this team, he helped design, develop and launch the HON Accelerate, Maxon Prefix, and Allsteel Optimize panel systems.In 2013, Eric moved to Allsteel as a Lead Engineer on the Tailored Products team. In this role, he leads a team of design engineers in creating customized design solutions for Allsteel customers.Eric and his wife, Katie, live in Muscatine, are active in their church and community, and have 1 daughter.Specialties: Through his internship experience, Eric is proficient in SolidWorks, Pro/E, AutoCad Inventor, and AutoCad 2D. His education was focused on product and machine design.During his time at HON and Allsteel, Eric has been involved in many projects, including new product design, product development, cost savings initiatives, quality improvements, and product enhancements. He has gained valuable experience in modelling and printmaking, product design/design for manufacturing, and project management as a whole. In his new leadership role, he is learning how to effectively manage a team, becoming exposed to and involved in higher level business activities, and continues to gain industry experience and knowledge.
