A bootstrap founder and seasoned entrepreneur created a new style of festival production. After years of attending festivals, 7 in the Southern California region annually as a representative for Clan Douglas of North America. To sitting on several board of directors seats in Fillmore CA ( Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club) bringing the town together for community events. Providing my experience to the Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival of 20+ years (upon my return to my home state 2012) where attempting to help raise the awareness of the festival in the community through social media. After several years of volunteer work and building up the community following, was a cross road of different opinions and was told “if you think you can do better, why don’t you just do your own?”October 2018 to Nov 14th 2018 the decision was made to make a new festival. The ideas that plagued me were the foundation of the new creative direction and company. Just as the other businesses I started on a shoestring budget, the New Mexico Renaissance Celtic Festival was launched. Having built my other businesses with social media, the easy part was to create a page on Facebook and a simple website. 16 months was the time needed to build the first festival. Our followers were wanting something sooner, so we created the Pirate Summer Bash and the Holiday Winter Bazaar in 2019. As of March 15th (the Covid shutdown) we had arranged 43 entertainers on 5 stages, 120 craft vendors, marketing through print, radio, billboards, flyers and social media, all which was lost, devastated about the losses and No opportunities to recover, the company had to refund customers, vendors were wanting refunds, the company was broke. Sold new Fords in 2021 to recuperate all the losses with no government assistance or support. Relaunched the Pirate Summer Bash August 2021 with a 120% increase in attendance over 2019, which kicked started the road to recovery and the first NM Ren Festival.

Gathering craft merchants, entertainment, historical, fantasy in a family fun entertaining and learning experience event. Always giving more than expected. Smiles from our guests and happy vendors are the best feeling.
