Our Finnish Baby Box business was acquired by Reima, where we (the whole team) now continue our work with it. My own focus was on eCommerce and digital business within the Finnish Baby Box brand, and everything that this entails. In addition, a very important part of my work was business development, i.e. our strategy over the longer term.After transferring business ownership of the Finnish Baby Box brand, my focus has been on developing the broader ecommerce platform used at many Reima ecommerce sites. Specifically, my work is focused on developing a performant and delightful ecommerce experience to Reima customers.

We help new parents by providing a baby box filled with most of what a newborn will need in the first 6-9 months. The concept is similar to the famous "maternity package" that parents get here in Finland. Being a small start-up, all of us do everything from packing and inventory management, to licensing deals, and of course managing our global e-commerce solution. I am especially focused on online marketing, testing, and web development.

I am developing a PowerPoint-addin that simplifies slide editing for PowerPoint professionals. The company is a startup, which means that growing the business is my main focus. Enabling growth can be anything from validating the business model, to finding customers, and development itself (including customization for the biggest clients).

I worked as an "intrapreneur" at the Sanoma Lab, where we built new business opportunities for Sanoma. We employed the lean startup method to quickly validate or invalidate our initial ideas, and scale up the ones that did succeed. As a "founder" I was responsible for individual ventures, and as such, my tasks included identifying and testing critical assumptions, doing marketing and sales, growth hacking, and running day-to-day operations.

Management consulting for large Finnish corporations. I was involved in all stages of a consulting project, but mainly focusing on project delivery. August has no particular industry focus, with project topics ranging from strategy and M&A, to operations, sales and marketing, and organization. I did projects in all these areas, but had the most experience in sales and marketing, as well as commercial due diligence projects.

Writing a Masters' Thesis for a multinational industrial company about integrating product and service businesses from a strategic sales perspective. The title of the thesis is "Integrating industrial product and service businesses"

Responsible for the IT operations of a Europe-wide network of Industrial Engineering and Management students (the network consists of students from 75 universities). My main focus was on running the development of a new version of ESTIEM's web portal, which includes the public website as well as a custom-built "extranet" for students. One big responsibility of mine was also server administration - keeping the websites and e-mail systems running.

Internship at a Finnish management consultancy. Very steep learning curve into management consulting with an opportunity to see how large businesses are run and what challenges they face.
