Currently seeking employment as a Software Developer in the Seattle, WA area. With 15 years of professional software development experience, I have done almost everything. I have an amazing ability to learn new things on my own (primary reason I have no college degrees), and people are always saying there is nothing I cannot do or learn. If I don't know it, I will by my first day of work.I started programming when I was 7 years old, when my parents bought me my first computer (TRS 80). I got extremely interested while in high school, when my parents got me my first PC (286, DOS). I started taking programming classes at Imperial Valley College (Imperial, CA), but the pace was much too slow for me. At 16 I was hired by the local electric company to do clerical work, but after writing scripts to automate the data entry, my boss quickly moved me to a more technical role that involved computer aided drafting and writing AutoCAD scripts using LISP. All of which I had never done before, but learned on the job.At age 18 I moved to Tucson, AZ for family reasons. Technical opportunities were very limited in Tucson at that time, so I worked in real estate. I started as a leasing agent but quickly moved up to become a regional supervisor. At the end of my 5 year career, I was supervising over 50 employees at 15 different locations in Tucson.I was then hired by my current employer, Telexis, as a Software Developer. At the time I had limited experience with C and had written one small application in Microsoft Access/VBA. At the interview we took a test that involved using Borland Turbo C (IDE) to create a simple Windows application. After I was hired, even though I had no Windows experience, my boss informed me that I did better on the test than all others, including the candidates with experience and/or computer science degrees. I've been working at Telexis for 15 years now, and have learned all of the skills required to develop top notch modern applications.

  As the lead software developer of a small team, I worked on all areas of software development, from concept to release. My experience includes the latest technologies such as native Android, iOS and Windows mobile applications, as well as time tested fundamentals such as C/C++, native Windows applications and Microsoft .NET. You name it, I've probably done it.Our primary product, "PHONEslips"​ is primarily PIM (Personal Information Management), but has several other features including: Ability to work on-line/off-line via mobile apps, laptops, and remote workstations using our proprietary database engine, proxy server, client/server, and Internet synchronization modules that were all developed by myself (as sole developer for most projects).We also provide custom solutions for some of our clients, ranging from websites to custom mobile and desktop applications. I have been lead developer as well as our clients'​ direct technical contact on these projects.One of my greatest achievements on this job was going from never having used a Mac or iOS device, to releasing our PHONEslips for iOS application in just 3 weeks. This included: purchase and setup of the Mac, learning XCode, learning Objective-C, working with designers and testers, doing all of the App Store publishing and developer account setup, and adding features to our back-end servers (for synchronization with office/desktop application). I was the only developer on this project.After 15 years with this company, I am very happy, and they are very happy with my work. I am currently seeking employment in the Seattle, WA area, because this is where I really want to be for the rest of my life.As a small software development company it is amazing that Telexis has managed to make it through the "dot com bust" and difficult economic times after the last 15 years. I would like to think, and I think they would agree, my role in this company was a big part of that.
